YCI Features New MV-106A at WESTEC 2003

YCI will debut the new MV-106A, an extremely versatile vertical machining center with box way construction, at WESTEC 2003. The MV-106A will feature fast 945ipm rapids with X, and Y-axis travels of 40"x23.6"x23.6". The reliable high-speed swing-arm style automatic tool changer, with a 24-station magazine, switches tool to tool in just two second. A 20hp, 8000 rpm spindle with optional 2-speed gearbox offers the flexibility of high speed machining or heavy cutting.

The MV-106A is equipped with MXP-100i control from FANUC that offers an 8" color LCD monitor and is loaded with additional features, such as extended memory, macro B, tool path graphics and advanced preview control. Both the High efficiency FANUC AC digital servo drives and the High Response Vector Drive spindle motor are equipped with absolute positioning encoders for superior positioning accuracy.

The Extremely rigid MEEHANITE® Base Casting features a new design that keeps the coolant clean and reduces oil contamination. The headstock counter balance is supported by guide ways within the column to minimize vibration during Z-axis movement. The MV-106A also comes standard with an oil skimmer, spindle and cutting air blast, spindle air curtain, and a heat exchanger for the electrical cabinet.

YCI will also be exhibiting a high-speed twin pallet vertical machining center, a high accuracy bridge style mold machine, a heavy cutting turning center and more. Demos, from mold making to high speed machining to heavy chip removal, will be performed in order to demonstrate reductions in cutting time and improved part finishing.
