New IMTS 2004 High Speed Machines Preview

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (Aug 15, 2004) —

In continuing pursuit of excellence in machining technology since 1954, YCM Industries is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year and will introduce the all new FP-55A high speed linear motor machining center and GT-Series high speed turning in booth# A8527 at the upcoming IMTS 2004 at Chicago, IL on September 8-15. YCM will demonstrate the capability of the newest state-of-the-art technologies:

 

 

 

- The new FP-55A is a high speed die mold machining center with the latest linear motor technology. This new machining center incorporates high powered 30,000 rpm integral spindle motor with patented spindle cooling design and the new FANUC 31i CNC control with high speed 64-bit RISC processor, Nano-HPCC 3D-contouring function, and the newest HRV 4 Servo technology. The linear motor is designed with patented multi-layer cooling design that assures minimal heat distortion from constant high speed rapid of 60m/min and the rigid structure body is designed to handle the high acceleration rate of 1.2G. The 20"x 20" x 10" travel is ideal for high precision mold, electronic and medical parts.

  

 

 

  - The all new GT-Series turning center is the most robust and rigid turning center ever built. Ranging from 6" to 12" chuck. The GT-Series is equipped with ultra high speed servo driven turret to minimize non-machining time. The all new TXP-100i and optional TXP-200i control by FANUC offers high process speed and user friendly operations. The hardened and ground boxed way modular design and high torque spindle motors with oversized spindle bearings offers the heaviest cutting capability in its class. The standard tailstock sits on one piece casting bed that weighs over 11,000 lbs. GT-250A with 8" chuck and 20hp spindle will be demonstrated with LNS barfeeder to demonstrate its versatility.
