HIGH-SPEED VERTICAL MACHINING CENTER FEATURES POWERFUL 20,000 RPM, 30HP SPINDLE FOR HIGH PRODUCTION APPLICATIONS

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (December 15, 2000) —

YCI Supermax, a leading manufacturer and distributor of CNC and conventional machine tools, has introduced the new FV105A vertical machining center for high production job shop and high precision mold shop applications.

The FV105A is one of the most powerful mid-size vertical machining centers in its class. Featuring a high-speed 20,000 RPM, 30HP spindle, the FV105A can perform both rough cutting and finished cutting at the same spindle. The powerful spindle, combined with the machine’s high-speed rapid and cutting feed rates, means the FV105A can cut a wide range of material from aluminum to titanium. In addition, the machine’s speed and versatility provides shop owners with a significant increase in production by cutting the cycle time in half.

The FV105A’s unique heavy duty body structure combines both linear and box ways for speed and rigidity. The X and Y axes feature new THK® NR linear guide ways, while the Z axis features hardened and ground box ways. This construction allows for high-speed cutting as well as a higher level of precision. The rugged MEEHANITEÒ body casting and precision-hardened and ground pre-loaded ball screws are direct coupled to the servo motors for increased reliability. Additional standard equipment on the FV105A includes oil/air mist spindle bearings lubrication, a full alphanumeric keyboard, spindle and cutting air blast system, full chips and coolant guards, and a swivel control panel for ease of operation.

The FV105A also features a high-speed 24-tool dual swing arm ATC system and a bi-directional, random access tool magazine for optimum efficiency. The mid-size FV105A provides a generous 40" x 20" x 24" work envelope and extra wide saddle and machine base. Table positioning accuracy is ± 0.00016" with ± 0.00008" repeatability.
