YCI’S NEW VERTICAL MACHINING CENTER WITH AUTOMATIC PALLET CHANGER INCREASES PRODUCTIVITY BY 100%

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. — (November 24, 2000)

YCI Supermax, a leading manufacturer of CNC and conventional machine tools, has introduced the new FV102A vertical machining center with automatic pallet changer. The FV102A provides maximum production for a wide range of machining applications while meeting the demand for high-speed, high-precision operation.

The FV102A’s automatic pallet changer (APC) utilizes a high-speed servo driven mechanism that completes one cycle of the 20" x 40" pallet changing in twelve seconds, reducing machine idle time and increasing productivity by 100%. The APC increases machine and operator productivity by eliminating unnecessary down time. The operator is able to load, unload, inspect parts and set up jobs while the alternate pallet is in the machine. The shuttle-type APC is driven by a servo motor for ultimate reliability, while its space-saving design makes the best use of the valuable shop floor.

The FV102A is equipped with a unique IDD spindle with 10,000 RPM (15,000 RPM option), driven by a powerful 20HP digital spindle motor. To optimize production flow and efficiency, the machining center also features a high-speed 24-tool swing arm ATC system and a bi-directional, random access tool magazine. The work envelope for parts is a generous 40" x 20" x 20" in the X-Y-Z axes, and the system maintains a high accuracy of + 0.00016" with + 0.00008" repeatability.

The FV102A’s rigid body construction, made from rugged MEEHANITE® casting, provides durability and precision for high-speed machining applications. Precision hardened and ground, pre-loaded ball screws are direct coupled to the servo motors for increased reliability. Available for immediate delivery, the FV102A is ideal for machine shop owners that require a significant increase in productivity.
