YCI, a leading manufacturer of CNC machine tools, has introduced its new FP-66A bridge-style machining center for the die mold market. The FP-66A's high speed and high horsepower IDD Plus spindle design combined with rigid bridge-style construction and state of the art FANUC 18iMB CNC Control makes it ideal for hard milling conditions.

The FP-66A's specially designed bridge-structure ensures perfect load distribution and pinpoint accuracy. With 30 HP Integral spindle motor directly coupled to high speed spindle, FP-66A is capable of speeds from 60 RPM to 16,000 RPM to meet the requirement of most die mold shops. The machine offers a vast array of additional performance features, including: Heidenhain Optical Scales on all 3 axes with 0.1um high resolution modular (HRM), oil/air mist spindle Bearing Lubrication System for spindle wear protection, Spindle Cooling System for minimizing spindle growth, and a 24-tool swing arm type ATC system. The ATC's large tool capacity allows permanent-set tooling to be stored in the magazine, minimizing tool setup time for efficient and versatile operation.

The FP-66A's travel of 26" x 20" x 15.75" provides a generous working envelope to meet a variety of work piece requirements. The machine is complimented with a powerful FANUC 18i Model B control that boasts a special high-speed software package comprised of a 64-bit RISC processor, state-of-the-art FANUC Nano High Precision Contour Control (HPCC) software with Jerk Function, simultaneous Differential Feedrate Control (SDFC), NURBS interpolation, and HRV Servo Technology (High Response Vector). This High Speed control also incorporates large capacity data server, network capable through high speed Ethernet connection, PCMCIA interface, high speed rigid tapping and full alphanumeric keyboard for easy editing.
